Download copy without leading BOM
A Python CSV header can unexpectedly be '\ufeffname' rather than 'name'. This tool removes one leading UTF-8 BOM only. It does not re-encode, parse, normalize newlines, change delimiters, or validate your CSV. UTF-16/UTF-32 BOMs are detected but not converted. Files without a UTF-8 BOM are left alone. Keep your original and check the copy before use.
Excel note: a BOM can help Excel recognize UTF-8. Removing it is not always the right fix. If you control the Python reader, retaining the file and using encoding='utf-8-sig' is often preferable:
import csv
with open('input.csv', encoding='utf-8-sig', newline='') as stream:
rows = csv.DictReader(stream)
for row in rows:
print(row)

File bytes and names stay in your browser and are not stored by this tool. The downloaded copy is created locally.
